CLAS alum David Schwebel named UI's next vice president for research

David C. Schwebel, associate vice president for research facilities and infrastructure and university professor of psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, has been named the University of Iowa’s next vice president for research. He will begin July 1.

Writers' Workshop alum named recipient of 2024 MacArthur Fellowship

Poet, educator, and writer Juan Felipe Herrera, who received a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 1990, was named a recipient of a 2024 MacArthur Fellowship, also known as the “genius grant.”
